Mia Feuer: Suspended Landscape @ Transformer in D.C.

Opening: March 5, 6 PM
Transformer
1404 P Street NW
Washington D.C.
Exhibition Dates: March 5- April 17, 2010

From the Press Release:
Transformer is pleased to present new work by DC-based artist Mia Feuer, who engages Transformer’s project space from floor to ceiling in the creation of a large-scale, site-specific installation of construction cranes and pulley systems. Fabricated from foam and aircraft cable, Mia's brightly colored, intersecting sculptural elements form a “landscape” of impressions that the Canadian-born artist encountered during frequent travels up and down the US East Coast.

Originally from Winnipeg, and most recently a graduate of VCU’s Sculpture MA program, Feuer has been traveling extensively between Richmond, DC, and Vermont, where she just completed a residency that inspired this work. Feuer currently lives in Washington, DC.
